Meet the Artist
Hello! I'm Nicole Colunga, the artist behind Art by Nicole - Wedding Paintings, based in Topeka, Kansas. From the time I was a young girl, I've always enjoyed creating art. I recall attending high school basketball games in my small town as a child, sitting backwards on the bleachers to draw while the crowds cheered around me. There's just a certain contentment and tranquility when I'm drawing, painting, or creating, and I feel blessed to be able to bring this to those around me.
I primarily paint in acrylics, watercolors, and oils, but I also enjoy pastels and charcoals as well. My style leans towards realism, with touches of whimsy. I have a passion for capturing the special moments and connections between people, which is why when I first found other artists capturing the beautiful memories from weddings, I knew I had found my path as well. I love working with my clients, capturing your feedback to ensure that we are on the same page throughout the entire process and that the outcome of the painting is exactly what you're looking for. I practically dance in my seat when getting to speak with clients, because I am so excited to help capture the happiest day in a creative, timeless way.
When I'm not painting, you'll likely find me with my nose in a book, or spending time with my lovely and supportive husband Nick and our 3 dogs, Sophie, Sterling, and Luna. I'm a dog lover and enjoy spoiling my fur babies!
